Mayo Moreno is a Colombian watercolor artist, illustrator, and educator based in Chicago, and the creator of Safari of Ideas. Her paintings invite viewers into a whimsical world where glowing forests, cozy cottages, animals, and botanical forms come alive in magical harmony. Rooted in her background in design studies in Argentina, Mayo combines technique with creative pedagogy. She has created over 70 watercolor tutorials and taught an international community of students, making the art of watercolor both inspiring and accessible.

She is the author of the upcoming book Cozy Watercolor Landscapes (2026), a step-by-step guide to painting serene and enchanting sceneries. Mayo has collaborated with brands including Anthropologie, JOANN Fabrics, Blick Art Materials, and Jaftex, bringing watercolor into workshops, creative events, and product collaborations.

Through Safari of Ideas, she continues her mission of inspiring others to pause, notice beauty, and reconnect with imagination—one brushstroke at a time.
